Not much to report on at Lot 15 these last couple days. We went over after a dinner out last night and the most exciting new change is 6 long, bright orange sandbags lining the curb along the front of our lot. And a concrete washout basin on another lot. Which tells me that at least they're sort of considering starting something soon? And it's a definite maybe that we'll be scheduling our pre-construction meeting soon? Fingers crossed for this week.

So I'll talk a little about why we're moving. We have a great house now, we've lived there almost 10 years since right before we were married. Our oldest - my husband's son - was 3 when we moved in. Since then we've added 2 more kids and 2 more dogs (though we've since lost 1). Did I mention it's 1000sq ft? And there's only one bathroom? Not even a half bath? Thats right, 5 people sharing 1 bath. Needless to say we've more than outgrown it. We all have so much love for our little bungalow, but it's time to bid it adieu.

Now try to contain your enthusiasm, but here's a shot of the bright orange sandbags. Wonder if our HOA will let us keep them.

    1. Right?! There's going to be so much less yelling in our house now that we won't have to fight for bathroom time. Besides the dishwasher, the bathroom space is what I'm most looking forward too:)

    2. You don't have a dishwasher either?!?! How do you survive?!?

    3. The dishes get washed around here like 3-4 times a day. It really is crazy, but our kitchen is pretty small - we'd lose too much precious cabinet space if we install a dishwasher. But yes - at times it feels like the Dark Ages.

  2. That is a cozy house for sure with that many people/animals! My young son calls the orange runoff barriers "hotdogs".

    1. "cozy" is a very diplomatic way of putting it. "lack of personal space" or "right friggin on top of each other" is more accurate. ;)

  3. Emrose, you and your family are going to love the extra space. The Ravenna has a lovely floor plan that will suit your family nicely. I am so excited you will have the space to roam the land without bumping into each other. Will you have a large backyard for the dogs to roam around? Nothing is worst than trying to with two people at the sink trying to brush their teeth or waiting for someone to come out. lol I literally separated my husband and I into two different bathrooms. In the beginning of the marriage it was cute...but as time moved on I had to kick him out. lol

    1. The lot is .41 acre, so we'll have a nice size backyard. That's one bonus about our little "love nest" we have now - really decent sized backyard AND an awesome bike/walking trail literally on the other side of our privacy fence. Really going to miss that - we use it just about every single day.

  5. Lol!! Two people brushing over the tiny sink is the story of my life! Not to mention every time we take a shower we're stepping over plastic dinosaur bath toys. We're not going to know what to do with ourselves with all this new space, but Im really not going to miss sharing a bath with the kids. I know that!!!!

  6. Congratulations! We are also moving from a house that we have been in for quite a while (9 years). We're going from one Ryan Home to another. I just added you to my blog roll. I look forward to following you. http://ryanhomesjourney.blogspot.com
