"Welcome Home"

That's what our pm said to me at the house today. We had an informal walk-through today with our pm & our dads and when I got there he said "welcome home." I legit had to walk away for a sec because I got all misty-eyed. So much happened in the last couple days - cabinets & countertops in kitchen, sinks & vanities & toilets in all bathrooms but the powder room, trim work has begun, recessed lighting finished in kitchen and basement...so many things installed that are "homey". I can finally feel our house getting its personality - it feels more like ours each time we see something go up that we chose ourselves. It's still really hard to wrap my mind around that all this space is soon to be ours and it's all new and really nice and exactly what we want...its heady and emotional and exciting. I'm just over the moon with how everything has turned out so far. So without further ado, here are some pictures from today, a couple featuring my father-in-law, my youngest Dominic who was "helping" in every room, and me in the mirror of the powder room:) I'm loving the counters - who knew Formica could look so nice?! - and the cabinet crown moulding in the kitchen. And I'm actually really liking the vinyl floor in the kids bath, basement bath, & laundry - it looks really sharp!

    1. Yep, cabinets, then floor, then trim. Not sure why floor isn't done first, but if we ever need/want to change it, it will be a lot easier w/out having to remove the cabinets first!!

  4. I see that you all have the wiring for your TV to be mounted on the wall. One thing I didn't realize when going thru the building process is that they only provided me with 1 HDMI cable. I would prefer to have 3 in there.

    1. This might sound wildly ignorant, but why would we need more than 1 hdmi for that area? Or you mean they only gave you 1 for the whole house? I am clueless abt tv/audio set ups.
