Every Picture Tells a Story, Don't It?

So this morning was our pre-drywall meeting at Lot 15. It could not have gone smoother. No glaring mistakes that the pm didn't already know about or fix and we got a very thorough tour of our Ravenna's "innards". Guardian has been there, insulation is in, plumbing & HVAC have been there, brick was delivered while we were there - pm expects the brick to start going up tomorrow or Wed (there's supposed to be rain this afternoon), siding will be about 2 weeks as there was a hold up with the supplier. Couple more inspections to be had by the county, then drywall to go up later this week. Its all happening!! Huge bummer though, our current pm has taken a job opportunity with RH that moves him to Nashville, TN so he informed us today that we'll have a new pm from this point on. Good news, the new pm actually had a hand in training the outgoing pm, so he's leaving us in very capable hands. Both pm's were there today, so we got a very informative meeting with old pm and new pm answering questions. It was great! We're scheduled for our pre-settlement walk-through on  Fri Sept 21, with settlement taking place the following Mon or Tue.

And now, an onslaught of pictures that I will do my best to caption. No kidding, all those studs and wires and pvc pipes and switches and outlets start to look the same in pictures. Hard to tell where I'm looking!!!

There's me in the master bedroom.

Closer up view of plumbing between the master bedroom wall and bathroom.

Same view, but now I'm writing my one of my many home blessing/verses on the studs before the drywall goes up. Thanks to my sister-in-law for the great idea! And our PM for the permission to do it:)

Inside the master shower.

Looking into the 13 year old's bedroom from the master.

Laundry room....and me:)

Whole house fan in kids/upstairs bath.

Tub surround in kids bath.

Looking into 5year old's bedroom from 3 year old's bedroom. Lots of HVAC stuff and a closet separating them.

Looking toward back of house from 13 year old's bedroom.

HVAC tentacles in attic space above bedrooms.

Lines, wires, tubes, studs...i don't even know where I am anymore.

There I am! Putting some good vibes on the wood under the drywall in the living room. Bad juju, be gone!!

Unfinished storage area in basement. Boxes of exterior trim underneath the window. Or what will surely be a window soon.  If you look closely it says "install window"on the wall.  No kidding? So THAT is what the gaping hole in the wall is for!

Electric panel and a rainbow of colorful wires!

And we're back upstairs in the master. These posted wildly out of order for some reason.

Windows in master.

Attic space above master.

Garden tub. I see bubbles in your future, my friend!

This just struck me as funny - the post on the left is marked "cut access to attic". The one right next to it is marked "cut larger access".

And now we're back all the way down in the basement.

Insulation under the morning room in finished basement.

Finished area of basement. Enjoy the calm now, basement area. Come September and for the next decade or so, you are going to be filled with kids and toys.

Check out those recessed lights - 10 total in the finished basement area! Nice!

Full bath in the basement.

Water heater, furnace, sump pump area...more unfinished basement area.

The unfinished silver pipes are to allow fresh air into the basement. I've been assured there is some kind of cover/vent type thing so that the fresh air is not accompanied by critters.

Sump pump, unfinished area.

One of many home blessings I wrote on the wood. This one is in the family room. It reads-
Now therefore may it please you to bless the house of your servant,
so that it may continue forever before you.
For you, O Lord God, have spoken, and with your blessing shall
the house of your servant be blessed forever. Samuel 7:29

May your troubles be less
And your blessings be more.
And nothing but happiness
Come through your door. - Irish blessing. I put this one right next to the front door:)

Health is the greatest gift, contentment the greatest wealth,
faithfulness the best relationship. - Buddha. This one went in the dining room.

By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established;
by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:3-4. This is probably my favorite one.  And I botched the word "precious". Of course.

Looking through pantry into the dining room.

Foyer on the left side, wall separating family and living room in the center.

Ceiling fan rough-in - morning room.

Stairs as seen from kitchen. Awaiting rails and spindles. And carpet. And walls.

Family room taken from kitchen. Guardian work so we can mount the tv on the wall. Missing an outlet at 66 inches, but we didn't even have to mention it before the PM said the electrician would be back later today or tomorrow to correct.

Lots of rafters & attic space above garage.

Bricks!!! Falls canyon color. Cannot wait to see how these turn out. I might be more excited about the brick than almost anything else.

North side of the house - currently silver, but soon to be covered with monteray taupe siding. This is also where our "front" hose faucet is.

Sliding glass door off morning room - will be accompanied by a deck soon.

If you've read this far, thank you for bearing with me through all these incredibly exciting pictures of wood, wires, and PVC. I feel like our meeting today went smooth as silk and I'm hoping I haven't overlooked any mistakes or poor workmanship. I know squat about home building, but I'm learning. So far, so good:)

Tell me about it, studs....

Another pic heavy post, this time courtesy of our awesome Sales Rep who emailed me a ton of pics Sunday night!! These are mostly interior shots - lots of studs - but for one of the exterior...with the beginnings of a roof!! Its all happening.....
.
Silver, blingy house skeleton with a roof!!!
Office...I think. Its so hard to tell w/out being there!!
Taken from the kitchen looking into the family room. Took me forever to figure out where I was looking b/c I think that breakfast bar is on the wrong side. If I'm not mistaken, the breakfast bar would be butting up against the same wall featuring the optional windows (that we did not opt for) yes? Opposite side of the morning room from the sliding glass doors? Hmmmm....

Morning room.

Stairs taken from the kitchen.

Dining room.

Foyer/living room.

Upstairs hallway taken from top of steps.

One of the kids bedroom - no idea which one.

Backside of the kids' tub surround.

Hallway looking into the master

Rafters

Garden tub.

Master!!  Master!! Master of puppets is....ahh nevermind.

Stairs. Sideways.

Morning room taken from the family room. Am now thoroughly convinced that breakfast bar is on the wrong side.
Its all coming together!!! And we've apparently hit our first minor snag with that breakfast bar, unless I'm way off, there should be some kitchen cabinets along the bottom of that and I don't think I want them in the living room. We shall see.....

UPDATE: I emailed my sales rep right after I posted this, and copied it to the pm. He responded w/in 5 minutes that yes he was aware of the bar being on the wrong side and was already on top of it. Framers were supposed to have moved it today or tomorrow. He's diligent, that one. We and our house are in good hands!!!
